Building software is part of the software
A project does not stop at its source code. It needs to be compiled and checked, its dependencies managed and its distribution prepared. An understandable build pipeline helps teams share and evolve these practices.
My role
At Code Lutin, I worked on industrialising development and introducing quality procedures. The assignment included developing dedicated Maven plugins and maintaining Maven expertise within the team.
I also contributed to bringing the Maven repository into line with Maven Central requirements and managing its synchronisation. This connected internal needs with the conventions of the open-source ecosystem.
Areas of work
- Plugins adapted to development needs.
- Explicit quality procedures.
- Maven artefact and repository management.
- Jenkins, Sonar and Nexus as part of team workflows.
Expertise across projects
Build tooling remains an area of my work: making software production reproducible, explaining configuration decisions and supporting checks before delivery. Tools should help developers understand the systems they maintain.
